HOW DO WE DO IT?
We fund a project in Zambia
We collaborate with a project, in partnership with ClimatePartner and validated by Gold Standard, that saves more than 400,000 tons of CO2 per year in Zambia, while also creating local jobs and contributing to 7 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
WHY ZAMBIA?
Improvements for health and the environment
In Zambia, household air pollution is one of the greatest health risks. Most of the population cooks on open fires, often indoors. It is a low energy efficiency method with high CO2 emissions. Moreover, it is harmful to both health and the climate.
WHAT DO WE DO THERE?
Improved stoves
The project ApetEat supports aims to distribute 45,000 improved stoves per year across different regions of the country. In addition to generating local employment, these stoves allow for more efficient biomass combustion, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and significantly improves indoor air quality.
